Meet the Doctors of Donatelli Dentistry and Orthodontics
Dr. Paul Donatelli:
A native Floridian. He attended and graduated from Jupiter Christian School. After graduation, he attended Palm Beach Community College for two years he then moved to Gainesville to continue his education. Dr. Donatelli obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from the University of Florida and, being a true gator fan, received his dental degree there also. In addition to finishing in the top third of his class, he completed a one-year elective study in Orthodontics, a six-month elective study in Oral Pathology and a four-month elective study in Periodontal Surgery.
During these years in Gainesville, Dr. Donatelli was very involved in his church, teaching a weekly college-age Bible study. He also went on many mission trips treating people that would normally go untreated. This and other volunteer activities helped him maintain a deep commitment to people and his patients. One of Dr. Donatelli’s most rewarding dental experiences was getting to know an impoverished elderly woman who had been missing most of her teeth for thirty years. Upon completion of her dental work, she was ecstatic, proclaiming with tears in her eyes, that she could finally smile again without embarrassment. Another great achievement, and fun hobby, of Dr. Donatelli’s, was helping a man paralyzed by a traumatic automobile accident, fulfill his dream of rebuilding a 1969 Chevy Nova.
Dr. Donatelli is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, American Orthodontic Society, Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Association of Endodontists, American Academy of Periodontics and the Atlantic Coast District Dental Association.
Dr. Donatelli now resides in Palm Beach Gardens where he is renewing old friendships, making new ones and attending a new church. Dr. Donatelli is enjoying his chosen profession, particularly working with his staff as they share the same goal of providing the highest quality of dental care attainable. The art of dentistry is not only Dr. Donatelli’s profession, it is also his passion and he gives it his all. He also enjoys golf, exercising and painting.
Born in Manchester, NH. After graduating from Central High School, he attended the University of New Hampshire where he attained his BS degree in Zoology. He served two years with the United States Air Force as a medical Administrative Specialist, following which he entered the School of Dentistry at Temple University in Philadelphia.
While at Temple he was a member of the Delta Sigma Delta fraternity, and the Phi Omega honorary fraternity. He graduated 5th in his class. It was in dental school that he met his future wife, Donna Swyers, a Dental Hygiene student. The both graduated in 1954 and moved to West Palm Beach, FL where they were married and began to build their lives and their dental practice together in the downtown West Palm Beach area. In 1963, he purchased a building at 7500 South Dixie Hwy and moved his dental practice to this location, where he continued the practice of dentistry until he sold the practice. You can still find him at the chair, two days a week enjoying his life’s work.
During the past 55 years, Dr. Aliapoulios has been active in both the Florida Dental Society and the local dental society, serving as chairman of the Council on Dental Health for the State of Florida; aide-de-camp to Lou Atkins, the President t of the Florida Dental Association; and serving as part of the cleft palate study group, working with cleft palate patients. He also served on the staff of both the Good Samaritan hospital and the St. Mary’s hospital in West Palm Beach.
Dr. Aliapoulios is also a Rotarian, having been a member of the West Palm Beach Rotary for 55 years. He also directs the Greek Orthodox Church Choir at St. Catherine’s Greek Orthodox Church, and has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 51 years.
Dr. Aliapoulios and Donna have two children, Mark Aliapoulios, of Lake Worth, and Cyndi Thompson of Monterey, CA. They are the proud grandparents of nine.
Dr. Richard Donatelli:

It is with great pleasure that I introduce our new associate, my brother, Richard E. Donatelli, DMD, MS.
Dr. Richard Donatelli (or Dr. Richard, as we call him) graduated valedictorian from Jupiter Christian High School and completed his undergraduate studies with dual degrees and honors in Biological Science and Political Science at Florida Atlantic University. After receiving an orthodontic achievement award and his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Florida, Dr. Richard provided family dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and orthodontics at his general dental practices in Naples, Florida for nearly ten years. Dr. Richard has continued his affiliation with the University of Florida. He currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics where he teaches orthodontics on a weekly basis to orthodontic residents, pedodontic residents, and dental students. He is also the team orthodontist on the renown Craniofacial Anomaly Team at the University of Florida. His position with one of the top orthodontic institutions in the world enables Dr. Richard to be a leader in his field, keeps him abreast of the latest advances in orthodontics, and indicates his adherence to the highest standards of patient care. This is evident in Dr. Richard’s orthodontic research where he has co-authored several research articles published in scientific journals such as the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, the Journal of Dental Research, and Angle Orthodontist.
Dr. Richard is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the Florida Association of Orthodontists, the Angle Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the American Association of Dental Research, and the American Dental Education Association. Dr. Richard enjoys fellowship with family, friends, colleagues, and students. He attends Christ Fellowship Church and is a regular volunteer as a dental examiner at local and state Special Olympics games. In his spare time, he is an avid Gators sports fan, exercises regularly, and is an amateur artist.
Dr. Richard is committed to providing superior orthodontic care to all of his patients. He is outgoing, caring, and fun, and feels that patient satisfaction is the most important part of his position as an orthodontist. He strives for beautiful, functional smiles. Questions and concerns are always welcome from patients and parents.
